Irish Soda Bread 1

8 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
3 tablespoons of baking powder
2 teaspoons of baking soda
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
2 cups of raisins
3 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cups of butter, melted
1 quart of buttermilk

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cream of tartar in a bowl. Add raisins and stir. Stir in eggs and melted butter. Add buttermilk. With wooden spoon mix until well blended. Divide dough into 3 equal portions. Lightly grease bread pans. Bake in preheated oven at 305ºF. for 1 hour. (If not done after 1 hour, check every 5 minutes.)
