SNOWFLAKE COOKIES

4 squares of unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup of Crisco oil
4 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
2 cups of sifted flour
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of chopped pecans
Powdered sugar

Melt chocolate with oil in saucepan. Let cool and pour into mixing bowl. Add sugar and eggs and mix well. Add vanilla, measure and sift dry ingredients together and gradually add small amounts to above, mixing well each time. Stir in nuts, cover and place in refrigerator overnight. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Shape dough into small balls (size of a quarter). Roll in powdered sugar and place on greased cookie sheet, allowing room for expansion. Bake 8 minutes at 375ºF. Cool. Makes 5 dozen.
