Nana's Stove
Are you ready for some good homecookin"?

 

 

Hot Toddy 1

2 to 3 ounces of light or dark rum
1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar
2 whole cloves
1 slice of lemon
boiling water

Place a silver spoon in a heavy old fashioned glass or heatproof mug to prevent cracking. Add the rum, sugar, cloves and lemon slice. Fill the glass or mug with boiling water, stir and serve!  Variation. Hot buttered Toddy. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the mug or glass before pouring in the boiling water. 

Hot Toddy 2
My mother always made this if one of us had a cold, fever or just if we were getting on her nerves!

juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons of honey or sugar
3 ounces of bourbon or rye whiskey
boiling water

Put the juice of 1 lemon in a mug or large coffee cup. Sweeten with honey or sugar. Add the whiskey or rye. Fill the mug with boiling water. Stir and drink!
