| Salem Sausage Baked Beans 1/2 pound of hot sausage 4 slices of bacon 1 large chopped onion 16 ounces of butter beans, drained 16 ounces of pork and beans, undrained 15 1/2 ounces of kidney beans, drained 4 ounces of tomato paste 1/4 cup of brown sugar, packed 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard |
Instructions: Crumble the sausage, chop the bacon and fry. Cook the onions in the oil left over from the sausage and bacon, until tender. Pour off the excess fat. Combine the meat, onions and remaining ingredients in a 2 quart casserole. Bake covered at 375ºF. for 40 minutes, or uncovered for 20 minutes. |
