| French Onion Soup 3
4 large onions 6 tablespoons of butter 6 cups of beef broth 1/4 cup of sherry a pinch of salt 1/2 cup of grated Swiss cheese 6 pieces of French bread, toasted grated Parmesan cheese
Peel onions and slice thin, sauté in melted butter until brown and soft. Bring broth to boil and add to onions. Add sherry, taste and add salt to taste. Add Swiss cheese. Pour into large casserole or individual casseroles. Bake at 350ºF. for 15 minutes. Top with toasted bread slices and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serves 6 |
