| French Onion Soup 4
3 tablespoons of butter 3 bouillon cubes 3 large onions, sliced 6 cups of water 3/4 pound of Swiss cheese slices of French bread
Melt butter, add sliced onions and brown, being careful not to let them get too dark. Place browned onions in deep casserole. Mix 2 tablespoons of flour with a little water and add to the 6 cups of water, add to browned onions in casserole, add bouillon cubes and mix well, salt and pepper to taste. Grate most of the cheese and add to liquid. Float bread slices on top of casserole and top with remaining grated cheese. Bake for 45 minutes at 350ºF. Serves 4 |
